Catarina Vasques Rito completed her PhD in Fashion Design (joint degree) on 2019/09/17 at the University of Beira Interior and the University of Minho – Azurém Campus. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism, obtained on 1999/07/31 from the Portuguese Institute of Higher Studies (Instituto Português de Estudos Superiores). She is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias.

She has authored 2 book chapters and has organized 1 event. She has supervised 11 master’s theses and 6 undergraduate/final year projects. She is or has been a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in 1 research project.
