Adriana Sá holds a PhD in Arts and Computing from Goldsmiths, University of London (2016) and a graduation degree in Fine Arts from the University of Lisbon (1996). She is a transdisciplinary artist, performer-composer-musician as well as editor-in-chief of the Live Interfaces journal. Her research bridges artistic practice, interaction design, audio-visual theory, neuroscience and experimental psychology. She published with Routledge (2022), MIT (Leonardo Almanac/ 2013 and Leonardo Transactions/ 2015 & Leonardo/ 2023), the Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts (2015), McGraw Hill Education (2012) and Documenta (2023), beyond xCoAx - Conference on Computation, Communication, Aesthetics & X (2014/ 17/ 19) and NIME - Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression (2007/ 14), among others. She chaired the International Conference on Live Live Interfaces in 2022 and 2014, and was the lead editor of a related e-book. Sá has been an invited professor at Coimbra University (2016-18), at ESAD / Upper School for Arts and Design (2016-2021), Lusófona University Lisbon (2016-2021) and Noroff University College (2024). Currently she is a member of the board at Lusófona and a member of CICANT - Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture and New Technologies. Simultaneously she continues to develop her artistic projects.
Sá found early recognition as a transdisciplinary artist, musician-performer-composer. Her custom instrumentation emerged in the context of residencies at STEIM, Metronom Electronic Arts Studio and Experimental Intermedia Foundation NY. In the 1990s she started using sensor technologies to explore sound connected to light, space, movement, architecture, weather and social context. Since 2008 she works with an audio-visual instrument that combines a custom zither and software that processes sound and image based on the zither sound, extending the physical space to a digital 3D world.
Sá’s artistic projects have been presented worldwide, in venues such as Aomori Contemporary Art Center in Japan; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Serralves Museum, Maria Matos Theatre, Bairro Alto Theatre, Chiado Museum, Casa da Música, Culturgest, Luzboa Biannual and Rivoli Theatre in Portugal; Caixa Forum, Arteleku and Museo Vostel in Spain; Institute of Contemporary Arts and Iklectic in the UK; Monty in Belgium; Experimental Intermedia Foundation and EyeBeam in NY. Her performances and installations were also presented in contexts such as the Circular Festival, Colina Project, Lisboa Soa Festival and Dar a Ouvir Festival (Pt); Ultrasound Festival, Atlantic Waves Festival and xxxxx (U.K.), Version Beta (Switzerland) and Festival Novas Frequências (Brasil). In addition to her shows, Sá produced and mixed two CDs released by Clean Feed, and participated with audio tracks in CDs released by EMF (State of the Union, 2000), MoMa (Volume: Bed of Sound, 2001) and The Wire (Atlantic Waves, 2005), among others.

Director of the Master's degree in Communication, Marketing and Digital Media and Deputy Director of the Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences at Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário do Porto, she teaches Journalism, Strategic Communication, and Research Methodologies. Has been dedicated exclusively to Higher Education since 2021. Prior to that, and for 27 years, worked as a journalist in the media industry.
Holds a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Minho, specialising in Organisational Communication, and has completed two postgraduate programmes – Brand Creation and Management (IPAM) and Economics for Journalists (Faculty of Economics, University of Porto). Obtained her undergraduate degree in Journalism from the Porto School of Journalism.
Has published in peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed journals and has participated in several international conferences. Since 2021, has been a researcher at CICANT. Has served on academic examination panels for Master’s and Doctoral degrees. Her work has been recognised with three awards: the ANMP Journalism and Local Power Award (1st place for a collective piece and an honourable mention for an individual report) and the António Sérgio Cooperation and Solidarity Award, granted for her doctoral thesis.- 0000-0002-8764-5690

Ana Filipa Oliveira is an assistant professor at Lusofona University and an Integrated Researcher at the Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies (CICANT). She teaches several course units related to Research Methodologies, Communication Theories, and Media creativity. She is a coordinator of the Bachelor Degree in Applied Communication at Lusófona University (Porto University Center). She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Minho. Her Ph.D. research focused on creative media production in formal educational settings and the promotion of media literacy and citizenship in schools with a grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (SFRH / BD / 126433/2016). She has a degree in Communication Sciences (FLUP) and a Masters in Marketing (U-MAIA) and has worked for several years as a trainer and a Marketing and Communications Manager. She is currently the national coordinator in the European project ASAP (KA220-SCH-BC59D668). She is engaged in the national project YouNDigital (PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021) and European projects ReadTwice (Proposal ID101081326), MeDeMap (Horizon Europe no. 101094984), Comsus (KA220-HED-B927) and EEAD - Empowering Europeans Against Disinformation (Proposal ID101081359). She was part of the Portuguese team of the project SMaRT-Eu (LC-01563446) and has collaborated with other European projects. She is vice-chair for the Children, Youth and Media section and co-coordinator of SOPCOM's (Portuguese Communication Sciences AssociationCommunication & Education) working group. She is also an active IAMCR - International Association for Media and Communication Research member. She is the associate director of Revista Comunicando. She collaborates with several NGOs, institutions and informal groups promoting gatherings and educational activities for children and young people focused on citizenship, society, media, and creativity, namely the Portuguese Communications Foundation and "Grupo de Leitura Cultura, Media e Cidadania". Her research interests include youth, participation and civic engagement; creative media production, media education; digital identities and cultures; participatory methodologies; civic cultures; critical pedagogies; transformative learning; teacher competencies, new educational environments & pedagogical approaches. Among her latest publications are articles published in journals such as Media & Communication and Observatorio (OBS*), and chapters in Springer editions. She has also contributed to other publications, such as the Children's Media Yearbook 2023 and Media Literacy and Assistive Technologies for Empowerment in Autism (Edições Universitárias Lusófonas, 2023).

- Ana Figueiras received her Ph.D. in Digital Media from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UT Austin Program | Portugal) in late 2016. Ana also holds a degree in Communication Sciences and a Master's degree in New Media. Her main research area is information visualization with a focus on visual forms of storytelling and on identifying the best techniques for incorporating narrative elements into visualization, as well as finding which elements are most effective. She is also interested in new methodologies for performance and experience evaluation in visualization.

Ana S. Fernandes has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2004), a PhD in Toxicology (2010), and was recognised with the European Registered Toxicologist title (2018). She is an Associate Professor at Universidade Lusófona and Director of the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences at this institution since 2024. She is also the coordinator of the Models & Mechanisms Lab of CBIOS Research Center. Since 2007 on, she has published over 85 full papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 5 book chapters, and three dissemination publications. A. Fernandes reviewed approx. 80 papers published in international journals (since 2012; Publons profile: publons.com/a/1324213/). She was the guest editor of three special issues and is currently editing two other issues. In addition, A. Fernandes is author/co-author of more than 95 oral communications and over 150 posters in international and national meetings. She has received 12 awards/honors. A. Fernandes has supervised three PhD theses (completed) and is currently supervising five PhD and three master students. In addition, she has previously supervised 28 master dissertations and several research trainees, including five post-doc, six visiting PhD students and over 30 undergraduates. She participated in several Academic Juries (five PhD, 18 MSc and 47 MPharm). In addition, A. Fernandes has integrated the Evaluation Panel of different calls for research fellowships (CBIOS/FCT), scientific missions (COST actions), and research projects (Croatian Science Foundation - Hrzz-epp; Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance Fellowships). She has participated in 10 research projects grants and four contracts. She was the National delegate for the Management Committee of the COST Actions Action BM1203 - EU-ROS (2013-2016) and CA16112-NutRedOx (2017-2020), in which she worked also as Manager of Science Communication. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the School of Health Sciences and Technologies of Universidade Lusófona where she served also as Vice-President (2012-2014). A. Fernandes is also a member of the National Observatory for Emerging Risks of ASAE (The Portuguese Economic and Food Safety Authority, 2018) and an Expert of the Evaluation Group of Veterinary Medicines (GAMV) of Direção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária (DGAV, 2018). She is the coordinator of the Advanced Training in Fundamentals of Cell Culture (six editions, between 2012-2023) and of the Cell Migration Workshop (2018, 2019, 2022). Finally, Ana Fernandes has integrated the Organizing Committee of several international and national meetings and participates regularly in public outreach activities. Her main line of research is the study of the impact of redox modulators in cancer etiology and progression. She is actively interested in understanding the influence of cellular redox pathways in different features of cancer cells, including proliferation, motility and invasiveness. These studies could contribute to the comprehension of the redox biology of cancer and to the development of novel therapeutic and nutritional strategies.

- André Rui Graça holds a PhD in Film Studies from University College London (UCL) and is the author of Portuguese Cinema (1960-2010): Consumption, Circulation and Commerce (Boydell and Brewer, 2021) and the co-editor of Filmmakers on Film: Global Perspectives (Bloomsbury, 2023). André Graça has presented his work internationally and has published frequently in academic and extra-academic contexts. He was a teaching assistant at UCL, and guest professor at Universidade da Beira Interior and Instituto Politécnico de Tomar. Currently, André Graça teaches at Lusófona University and is a researcher at CICANT. He is involved in several EU-funded projects (namely: FilmEU+, WIRE, and CresCine) that intend to set new benchmarks in film education, carry out innovative research and make the film industries of small European countries more competitive.
