The general objective of the REDALIM-MIC Network is to constitute an interdisciplinary network of mobility and experimentation that, through its knowledge and the contribution and commitment of the participating companies, allows the identification of compounds with antimicrobial activity present in food plant species of regional interest, which makes it possible formulate functional foods that contribute to preventing and combating severe infectious processes, both acute and chronic. At the same time, this proposal aims to highlight the role that food and healthy eating play, not only from a nutritional point of view but also as a source of bioactive compounds that play an important role in terms of prevention and/or treatment of certain pathologies. The preventive role of functional foods will be highlighted by strengthening the immune system, producing defenses against infectious agents,
The proposal is based on a regional collaborative research project with the participation of companies and cooperatives in the region. It is relevant to highlight that we intend to work with foods of regional interest, that is, foods that grow or are cultivated in the Ibero-American region, which are marketed in our territory, giving added value to our internal production.

The HYGIEIA Project aims to bring a ground-breaking educational project providing scientific knowledge and competencies that are applicable in risk prevention (rather than treatment) health strategies. This is achieved through non-pharmacological approaches: Nutrition, Lifestyle education and thoughtful use of Cosmetics, Food Supplements and Digital Tools, accomplishing the potential synergies that can be established when a holistic approach is used. HYGIEIA will involve student mobility in Lusófona University (Portugal), University of Balearic Islands (Spain) and University of Belgrade (Serbia), and multiple opportunities of interaction with industry and stakeholders belonging to its global Associated Partners network.

The general objective of PROSECUW is to enhance protection at places of worship in European countries by setting up cooperation between public authorities (especially law enforcement agents), religious leaders and congregants.
The cooperation will be established in various forms and through communication and information for a better understanding of hate speech/crime and terrorist threats that places of worship face in terms of security. Furthermore, security awareness raising activities will be designed EU-wide in order to inform the local community on religion-based crimes so citizens can be encouraged to report such experiences they might have.
Various tools such as campaigns, social media activities and trainings and the creation of manuals consist parts of the sharing knowledge, relevant tools and good practices among the EU stakeholders. In the proposed project technology (production of a documentary and online training) will play an important role both in training sessions and the cooperation of public authorities and faith-based leaders in general. PROSECUW is expected to have both a short and a long-term effect and consequently lead to the development of protective measures aiming to enhance security in places of worship and also strengthened future responses in such cases. Capacity building among professionals who work in the security field and religious leaders will make sure that the relevant material and guidelines that will be produced shall be spread across countries and utilized by hundreds of beneficiaries. The latter, after gaining new skills and competences, are expected transform their local societies into more secure and safe places. The project will eventually increase security and protection in houses of worships of individuals, families, people in need of every single religion can pray, express their faith unafraid, EU-wide and also around the world. Even if the proposed project won’t manage to fully eliminate hate crimes and terrorist attacks in places of worship it will definitely stop the augmentation of such cases in the EU through increased reporting, cooperation among various stakeholders, awareness raising in the affected communities and of course training that would include both training modules and digital storytelling in order to replace fear and insecurity with the sense of security and protection.

RE:ANIMA European Joint Master in Animation is a new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) in the area of Animation and the creative arts.
RE:ANIMA is oriented towards an international dimension of the industry and the profession. It envisions the creation of an international community of animators who make diverse connections and create a network for future career endeavours. RE:ANIMA is fully taught in English and strives for establishing a high-level profile and a network of global connections, namely via the involvement of international professionals in the programme, including experts from international production companies. With the combination of the students’ individual learning trajectory and a broad, multicultural orientation, RE:ANIMA assumes a unique presence in Europe, and strongly intersects with the needs of the animation film industry. Students will become familiarized with three entirely different locations, both culturally and industry-wise, and will be continuously motivated to broaden their cultural horizon. This will provide them not only with a varied palette of skills in animation filmmaking, but also with an international network and orientation, which is invaluable in a sector where international co-production is at the heart of the industry.
The integration of different forms of expanded animation into the programme is a new curricular feature which does not exist in traditional animation programmes that are usually oriented towards short film production with a narrow focus and specialization in animation techniques. RE:ANIMA acknowledges and fosters the importance of using animation outside the film and TV series formats, hence the fact that live animation, VR and visualization are considered essential in the programme. RE:ANIMA will dedicate a semester to the use of various animation techniques in documentary production, while other semesters focus on fiction formats (film and TV) and experimental uses of animation. This broad understanding of the field opens unbounded possibilities to the students in terms of their graduation projects. The first semester, to be taught in Genk, will focus on fiction and narrative, the second one in Helsinki, on experimental animation and visualization and the third one, in Lisbon on documentary. During the fourth semester, students will move to the school that hosts the area in which their thesis project focused on. Alongside these specialized applications, there will be a constant focus on an expanded use of animation techniques independently of the formats at stake.
The European Commission recognises that disinformation poses major risks to European democracies and societies, and it needs to be addressed in order to preserve European values and freedoms. Fake news undermine the trust of citizens in democracy and democratic institutions and contribute to the polarisation of public views. Considering this, it is crucial to teach people how to assess critically content, especially online, and make them more aware of the phenomenon of disinformation, how it can interfere with democracy and human rights.
In this respect, READ TWICE will counter disinformation and limit the spread of fake news by enhancing citizens` skills to assess critically information, identify vicious and harmful media content and distinguish between facts and opinions, thus improving their media literacy competences. The project consortium involves organisations coming from both countries with high and low media literacy capacity. To ensure exchange of knowledge and best practices, and transfer of know-how two international capacity building trainings are envisaged – in Portugal and in Germany. The events will aim at improving the capacity of 30 young media practitioners to identify disinformation and implement state-of-the-art practices for media literacy.
Furthermore, 9 media literacy trainings for university students, 3 seminars for local stakeholders and multipliers in the field of media literacy will take place in Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia thus involving almost one thousand people. In addition, an international webinar will increase the access and use of digital tools for countering disinformation and social media campaign “Read twice, don`t repeat lies” will encourage citizens stop, read again and check if the information is accurate and reliable before sharing it. At the end the project, an international conference will take place in Brussels capitalising lessons learnt and promoting active participation in the EU policy making process.

Red 323RT0142 aims to contribute to economic recovery through scientific-technological cooperation mechanisms associated with the Plant Food Value Chain, focused on fruit and vegetable crops, that provide transferable results. We will work around 5 strategic axes: a-R+D+i; b-Transfer to the productive sector; c-Social Aspects; d-Definition and quantification of indicators, goals and achievements; e-Exploitation, Dissemination and Communication.
Justification: Ibero-America has been one of the regions most affected socially and economically by the pandemic. The Circular Economy is key to designing recovery plans based on the exploitation of our own natural resources. Ibero-America is a region with great diversity of fruit and vegetable crops and its waste (16% of total food waste) offers unique and underexploited opportunities for the recovery of bioactive compounds and use in various co-products.
Ibero-circular is an intersectoral and interdisciplinary consortium with know-how and complementary capabilities that will provide innovative solutions in their added value. A comprehensive approach is proposed that contemplates the recovery/characterization of valuable compounds through green methods, their valorization for the development of sustainable processes and products with high added value for the food, nutraceutical and/or cosmetic sector, together with the reduction of environmental impact. Gender balance and the inclusion of regional communities in the proposed activities are highlighted.

This project explored the role of oxidative stress pathways in cancer progression, particularly in breast, renal, and brain cancers. By analyzing gene expression data from various databases and conducting experiments with cell cultures and human tissue samples, we contributed to understand how specific proteins involved in regulating cellular redox status contribute to cancer development. Additionally, we screened natural compounds to identify potential therapies that target these proteins.

The objective of Ethnic Radio and Community Integration is conducting an investigation that allows the registration of radio content (on local and national radio stations or disseminated over the Internet) for the immigrant communities in Portugal, with their technical and aesthetic characteristics.
Other important objective is understand the contribution of the radio to create dynamics for the integration of immigrants in Portuguese society.

REPLAY: EUROPEAN JOINT MASTERS IN GAMES is a four-semester EMJM in game design, reconsidering the current role of games education in European society, culture and the creative industries.
REPLAY is built around four principles:
affirming European values through games, promoting positive social transformations through play, ensuring a medium independent exploration of play and improving the economic and social sustainability of the games industry. With the motto “future-proof your career”, REPLAY develops and delivers a pedagogical experience to empower digital citizens as co-creators of games culture and shapers of their own futures in society, cultural institutions (CHIs), and creative industries (CIs). REPLAY’s challenge-based program trains graduates to make decisive interventions - innovating the design of games and play by harnessing local contexts and building their partnerships and industry integration during the masters.
Activities in REPLAY leverage Erasmus+ mobility to harness the strengths and experience of game design education of the three consortium members with complementary profiles, joining northern Europe (Aalto University, Finland), central-Europe (LUCA, Belgium) and southern-Europe (University Lusófona, Portugal), in a training project that extends into an enlarged network of European and trans-European partners. These strengths include:
student collaboration, an extensive and varied global partners network, organising creative workshops, production residencies, and student project dissemination, promoting RE_PLAY in conferences and exhibitions and public cross-sector events throughout Europe. Repurposing Olive Oil By-products into Sustainable Health and Nutrition Products

Each year, olive oil production in the Mediterranean and other regions generates millions of tons of solid and liquid residues, creating environmental, economic, and public health challenges within a One Health perspective. For every 100 kg of extra virgin olive oil, around 500 kg of residues are produced, retaining up to 53% of total polyphenols, particularly hydroxytyrosol, while the final oil contains only about 2%. Notably, olivederived polyphenols are the only ones recognized by EFSA as protecting blood lipids from oxidative stress, supporting EU-authorized health claims, and strong commercial relevance.
Olive2New is a circular-bioeconomy project developed by EntoGreen, Tecnocosmética, Euromed, and CBIOS (Universidade Lusófona), aimed at transforming olive oil byproducts into renewable bioactive ingredients for human and animal health. The project uses Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae fed on diets containing ~85% olive pomace. This biotransformation converts waste into nutrient- and bioactive-rich insect biomass, providing sustainable protein and lipid sources while enabling recovery of olive polyphenols from BSF larval oil, establishing a closed-loop bioeconomic model.
Green extraction technologies (microwave- and ultrasound-assisted extraction) combined with chromatographic analysis (HPLC-MS) are used to optimize extraction and preliminary isolation of polyphenols from olive pomace and BSF larval oil. Extraction prioritizes green solvents (ethanol and hydroalcoholic mixtures). Extracts are biologically evaluated for cytotoxicity, eco-toxicity, antioxidant activity, and enzyme inhibition related to anti-aging and skin health.
Tecnocosmética and Euromed will incorporate selected extracts into health product formulations, validating stability, performance, and regulatory compliance. The project integrates in silico approaches for computer-aided extraction design, enhancing mechanistic understanding. Olive2New involves early-career researchers and MSc and PhD students, promoting capacity building and knowledge transfer.
By valorizing olive by-products through insect bioconversion and green extraction, Olive2New supports the EU Circular Economy Action Plan, the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, the European Green Deal, and contributes to SDGs 3, 12, and 13, fostering sustainable innovation and eco-efficient growth in health-related products.
By integrating academic research, industrial expertise, and One Health principles, Olive2New demonstrates how environmental sustainability, insect-based bioconversion, and human health can advance together. It reduces environmental impact, lessens dependence on fossil resources, and promotes green growth and innovation.
